This privacy statement describes our online policies and practices concerning your personal information.

Information Collection and Use

AFtS is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement.

Online Tickets, Memberships, and Donations

When you purchase AFtS tickets or memberships online, or make a donation to AFtS online, we will ask you to provide us with the information we need to process your membership and/or to acknowledge your contribution. This information includes your name, billing and shipping addresses, telephone number, e-mail address, and credit card information. Your credit card information will be used only as needed to process your transaction.

AFtS may also use this information to contact you about the special event or program for which you have expressed interest. In addition, AFtS may also use your email address to contact you about future events either through individual email or through a newsletter. AFtS will not share your email address with other businesses and organizations, although our email newsletters may be sponsored by and include messages from businesses or organizations that support AFtS.

Cookies

A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s hard drive containing information about the user. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our site. We may use cookies to: record session information, such as tickets purchased and donations made; record user-specific information on what pages users access or visit; record past activity at a site in order to provide better service when visitors return to our site; ensure that visitors are not repeatedly sent the same notices.

We use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track user's movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information. IP addresses are also used to link a particular user to their shopping cart.

Sharing

We use an outside credit card processing company, Plumas Bank, to bill users for tickets, goods, and donations. The company does not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes. This information is solely used to bill the customer for the tickets purchased or the contribution. The user’s account information is not stored on any of our servers. Only certain authorized individuals have access to this information and it is only used for billing purposes. For more information on Plumas Bank, visit their website at www.plumasbank.com.

We do not share any other user information with outside companies or organizations.

Online Forms and Surveys

From time-to-time our site may request information from users via online forms, and surveys. Participation in these online forms and surveys is completely voluntary and the user therefore has a choice whether or not to disclose this information. Information requested may include contact information (such as name and address), and demographic information (such as zip code). Online form and survey information will be used for the purposes described at the time information is collected. If information is to be posted on our website, user's will be clearly warned, and have the opportunity to choose not to have their information posted.

Security

This website takes every precaution to protect our users' information. When users submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and off-line.

When our registration/order form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number), that information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software in the industry Secured Socket Layers (SSL). While on a secure page, such as our ticket order form, the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked, or open, when you are just 'surfing'.

While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All of our users' information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform specific job functions are granted access to personally identifiable information. All of our computers are password protected as well as all of our databases. Furthermore, ALL employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices. Any time new policies are added, our employees are notified and/or reminded about the importance we place on privacy, and what they can do to ensure our customers' information is protected. Finally, the servers that we store personally identifiable information on are kept in a secure environment.

Lost or Stolen Data

AFtS has security measures in place to prevent the loss, misuse, destruction and alteration of the information that you provide us or we obtain from you. We will have no liability, however, to you or to any third party arising out of any such loss, misuse, destruction, or alteration.

Correction/Updating Personal Information

If a user's personally identifiable information changes (such as your zip code), or if a user no longer desires our service, we will endeavor to provide a way to correct, update or remove that user's personal data provided to us. This can usually be done on the website at the same place where they submitted their information. Users can also contact our office via the methods listed on our Contact page.

Choice/Opt-out

Occasionally, we may send out emails, newsletters, or advertisements to our website users to inform them of upcoming events, fundraisers, or other important information. No user data is ever sold or distributed without the user's knowledge and consent. If, for any reason, a user would like to no longer receive information from us, they can send an email to kcarman@artsfortheschools.org and request to be removed from our mailing lists.

You will be offered an opportunity to unsubscribe from our email newsletter and event notices every time you receive such an email from us.

Notification of Changes

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on our website so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under circumstances, if any, we disclose it. If at any point we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify users by way of an email. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.

IF FOR ANY REASON YOU BELIEVE THAT YOUR PRIVACY HAS BEEN BREACHED THROUGH THE USE OF OUR SITE, YOU MAY CONTACT US IMMEDIATELY AT 530-582-8278.
